Privacy policy

Eloqa is still in development. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it and where it's kept. If anything is unclear, email hello@eloqalearn.com.

The waitlist

When you join the waitlist we store:

• your email address and the date you signed up;
• which form you used (for example, the one at the top of the home page);
• if your visit came from a link, the website that sent you and any campaign tags in that link (the utm_ tags some links carry). We keep only the page address, never the rest of the link.

This is stored with Cloudflare, in a Cloudflare D1 database. We use your email only to invite you to the beta and to tell you when Eloqa launches. We don't use it for anything else and we don't share it.

To keep out spam bots, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that runs in your browser. Cloudflare processes technical details about your browser and connection to run that check.

To leave the waitlist and have your email deleted, email hello@eloqalearn.com from the address you signed up with.

The app, for invited users

Signing in

You sign in with your Google account, through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). This gives Eloqa your email address, your name and an account ID. Eloqa never sees your Google password.

Your learning progress

Your progress, such as the lessons you've completed and when each letter is next due for review, is stored in Google Cloud in the United States (Northern Virginia), so it stays in sync across your devices.

Your answers

When you're signed in, your answers (which question, whether you got it right, and how long it took) are saved with your account, so your review schedule and progress follow you. To improve the lessons we look at answers across all learners together (for example, which letters people most often mix up), not at individuals.

Pronunciation checking

Pronunciation checking is optional. If you turn it on, short recordings of you saying a letter or word are sent to OpenAI's speech recognition service to be turned into text, so Eloqa can compare what it heard with what you meant to say. Eloqa does not store the recordings; it keeps only the text of what was heard, with your answer. If you leave it off, nothing is recorded.

What we don't do

• No ads.
• We don't sell your data.
• No third-party tracking and no analytics cookies, on this website or in the app.

Deleting your account

You can delete your Eloqa account from inside the app, or by emailing hello@eloqalearn.com. Deleting your account deletes your learning progress with it.

Changes to this policy

This is a draft and it will change before Eloqa launches publicly. When it does, the date at the top of this page will change too.
